ABOUT

JIMMY
STANGER
Born and raised in Tampa, FL, Jimmy started playing golf at the age of five because of his father and grandfather. Always competitive, Jimmy rose through the junior and college golf ranks to become a top 10 player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking while at the University of Virginia. He turned professional in the fall of 2017 and gained status on the PGA Tour's Korn Ferry Tour (formerly known as the Web.com tour) through Q-school. Each year, Jimmy has climbed closer to gaining his PGA tour card by finishing in the top 25 on the points list. In 2022, Jimmy finished 40th on the points ranking, securing full status on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023 where he hopes to make the jump to the PGA tour.
Jimmy is involved in multiple charities in Tampa, Jacksonville and around the world. Currently, his passion project is BirdiesforHope, where he partners with International Cooperating Ministries to build churches and hope centers worldwide. On the BirdiesforHope page, you can learn more!
Jimmy graduated from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce with a degree in Finance and Marketing. He spends time in Tampa, FL and Jacksonville, FL while practicing out of a private golf community in North Tampa named Avila. His favorite hobbies include reading, training in the gym, pickleball, competing at just about anything, and playing his piano.
Birdies For Hope
In January of 2020, Jimmy announced that he was starting BirdiesforHope to build churches and hope buildings for communities without a place of worship. For every birdie he makes on the Korn Ferry Tour, Jimmy donates $10 to BirdiesforHope. You have the opportunity to partner with him!
We have now completed construction on 7 Church/Hope Center buildings and have fully funded 8 separate projects in Colombia. We have also begun sending funds to churches and hope centers in Ukraine and Russia in need or repair due to the recent war.
In order to build these churches and hope centers, Jimmy is partnering with International Cooperating Ministries and the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay. ICM works with local congregations that already have the land to build churches and hope centers in third world countries. The buildings provide both a place of worship on Sunday and they serve as town halls, local hospitals, schools, bakeries, sowing shops and even orphanages during the week. With Jimmy, you will be helping to bring hope to an entire village!
Jimmy has especially been impacted by ICM as they built a church in honor of his adopted little sister, Theresa Maylei, within 10 miles of her birthplace in China.
Thanks to your generous donations, we have recently fully-funding the La Hermosa Sabaneta Church. This church congregation is a minority group within Colombia and has been meeting without a church home for a very long time. We will be announcing a new church project very soon and we will need your help to complete funding! Our goal for 2023 is to build 5 church projects, which will require over $100,000 in funding.
Will you parter with him in donating 1, 5, 10, 20 dollars per birdie in 2023 for this great cause? Any amount will make a difference! You can pledge now or give a one time donation below.
