Hello friends and supporters of the 2nd Annual BirdiesforHope Golf Marathon day,
I wanted to personally reach out to all of you who have pledged for the 2nd Annual BirdiesforHope Golf Marathon day and say thank you. Among all of you, we have received 55 pledges to support Eric Ness, and his two sons, James and Will in this venture. This is incredible. Thank you!
This past Monday, they completed their BirdiesforHope Golf marathon day, completing (and walking) 127 holes of golf in 13 hours of daylight. What a day to remember!
All of these proceeds are going to the BirdiesforHope foundation at the Community foundation of Tampa Bay, and will be directly transferred to help build the Templo Misionero Church building in Panama.
Many of you already have, but if you still need to fulfil your pledge, you can click here, or scroll to the bottom of this email. If you would like to give through a donor advised fund, please make the donation to the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, Attn. BirdiesforHope Foundation or the Raymond J Stanger Foundation.
I started BirdiesforHope as an overflow of my love for Jesus Christ and my desire to use professional golf to share this hope. I realized quickly that I could win every golf tournament I play in, but if I do not use my talents for something greater, my career will be wasted.
At BirdiesforHope, we help spread the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world by partnering with existing church congregations in 3rd world countries that do not have a place to meet. From these buildings, they will serve their towns and communities in ways they individually need. These buildings are churches on Sundays, but are put to use every day as hospitals, schools, bakeries, town meeting centers, lodges for missionaries, you name it. Essentially, they are bringing hope to the world physically and spiritually. There are hundreds, if not thousands of these opportunities around the world. Through the organization, International Cooperating Ministries (ICM), we are specifically partnering with this church in Panama because I have competed in golf tournaments in Panama multiple times throughout the years. We need to raise around $25,000 in total to get this done, and your donations mean so much.
A special thank you to Eric and his sons for organizing this event. He was the energy and organizer behind so much of this day and I am forever thankful to him for this.
I am currently battling through an elbow injury so you will not find me competing on the PGA tour now, but hopefully soon! If you would like to get on my regularly scheduled email to receive updates about BirdiesforHope and my career, please just respond to this email and I will add you to the list.
Thank you all,
Sincerely,
Jimmy Stanger
